Life is funny. Just when you let your guard down, miracles happen. And my miracle, is that little blue line came back positive on Sunday, Mothers Day. Now, the last time we went through this, in November, I thought wow, here we go again! But, that little miracle wasn't meant to be. So I am cautious and calm. Ok not really calm, ok and not really cautious either. It's just not my style! I did not think at all that I could be pregnant, but when I started to feel so tired, I thought that is not like me at all, but exactly what I felt newly pregnant with Lucia. So when I got the inkling in my mind that I could be pregnant, I rushed for a test. And that line couldn't have been more blue. If all pans out, I would be due on January 11th, a little winter dove or summer baby, depending on if we are in Brasil or America!
After the loss in November, I had essentially talked myself out of being a mother twice. I thought, maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Having only a child isn't such a bad thing. I have been so conflicted on the whole idea that I have been a real solid emotional mess. But as I sit here 5 and half weeks pregnant, I am so so happy. I am so excited to see Lucia as a big sister. I am equally as terrified, for how can I get lucky twice?
Crossing my fingers and toes!

The things she says!
Tonight Lucia was on fire! We picked her up from school and took her to dinner. She walked in the restaurant and repeated "2 and a high chair please" and then walked ahead of everyone to a seat. Then as we were ordering, she said "beans, rice and sour cream". She also felt it necessary to say hello to everyone that walked by and said plenty of thank yous to the waiter. At home, she was playing around on the couch and out of nowhere says " I love you guys". I was so shocked. She also said she loved the phone and couch pillows too. At least we made it in the top three. And then as we were cleaning up for bed time, she announces "I'm cute". Well after tonight, there is no question about that.
I can't wait for tomorrow has in store :-)

Hello May!
Ok, I love my hot weather, but when Portland gets hot, we aren't sure what else to do, but head to the river for camping! So last week we got the boat all ready for the season, dusted off the cobwebs on the camping gear, and headed out for a night. It. Was. So. Hot. But, we had a lot of fun and Lucia is getting used to boating now. The only whining was when she was on the boat, she would say its cold, but really, she didn't like the wind. But, as a boater babe, she will get used to it soon enough. And if the rest of Spring and Summer is like the past week, then we will have plenty of chances!
No accidents, even camping!
The captain and his dog.
Nothing better then cool mornings on the river.
San Diego, Home Sweet Home!
Since Rafa is saving up all his vacation for WC 2014, Lu and I headed down to SD for a little R&R, friends, sun, and Sea World. It was a great little weekend, and even though we didn't rent a car this time, we found lots of things to keep us busy!
Getting there!
Enjoying the hotel, swimming and sleeping!
Sea World!
The dolphin show, her favorite for sure.
Nothing like a little popcorn for the show, to help ease the jitters of loud crowds!
I would never force Lu on a ride, but I encouraged her with a little "will you hold my hand on the ride Lu, I am a little scared". She did hold my hand and didn't want to stop going over and over and over :)
She was too timid for Cookie Monster, but Elmo? Well that was a different story :)
Spending time with good friends...
A little walk....
Oh hey, that's my shadow
My most favorite girl in the whole wide world.

Dreams
We all have them, we just don't know it sometimes. Every morning I ask Lucia, "dorme bem"? "Sleep well?". And then I ask if she had a dream and what she dreamed about. Obviously Lucia does not understand the concept of dreams yet, but this morning after I asked her what she dreamed abut, she said "ice cream". Must have been because last night we had a delicious bout of ice cream at Salt and Straw :) She ate that entire cone and and then asked for another. Clearly ice cream is a concept that she knows very well :)

"Ämazing" Spring Day!
Our friends Shanna and Sandra invited Lu and I to go to the Tulip Festival on Monday So we in turn invited Megen and Greyson and what a lovely day it was! The Tulip Festival was so gorgeous, our stop in Lake Oswego was perfect, and dinner was a lot of fun! And I tell you, having the sun and warmth to add to our day was "ämazing" (as Greyson would say)! I could go on and on, but well, here are photos instead :)
Greyson and Lu walking around the gardens...
Megen, Greyson and Lu exploring!
Lu 1 hour after nap time and completely exhausted!
Gavin taking a moment :)
Sandra and Gavin
Lucia saying, "no, I don't want to take a picture"
"Can I touch?" Of course Greyson!
Greyson, Olivia and Lu on the bed of a truck...
After we left the festival, Megen took us to a lovely little spot in Lake Oswego for Cappucinos and Choucuettes :)
Then we took the kids to the park where they found some water fun!
Lucia got cold, she so she asked to be dressed again and then went right back for it!
And then after we dropped Megen and Greyson off for the evening, Rafa, Lu and I met back up with Sandra and Shanna and families for a lovely little spaghetti dinner.
Not even 5 minutes after sitting down...lol (thanks Sandra for the photo!)
Olivia and Lu really love each other....
And I really love my Lu.
Thanks to everyone for the perfect day!
