Our House Lost a Wall :)

So we finally took the plunge and removed a wall from our downstairs area, and when I say "we" I really mean handyman Rafa did.  Lucia and I managed the process, and vacuumed from time to time.  Its a bit nuts trying to do such a big project while having a 7 month old around, but I am so happy we did.  There is still the trim details that need to be done, but for now, the space is very comfortable, usable and so much more open.  After three years, this house is starting to feel like home to me.

Christmas is Here!

We usually get our tree and set up the house the first weekend in December, but this year we are leaving for Brasil on 12/24, so we wanted to be sure we had as much time as possible enjoying the decorations. The house is officially all set up, here are just a few pics.  Yay for Christmas!

Thanksgiving Tulsa

What a wonderful week it was in Tulsa!  It was so great to see everyone!  Lucia did great travelling, with exception of the separation anxiety ;-)  I am certainly thankful for so much, but for this week I was thankful that almost everyone could be together again :)  

Lucia 1 - Swaddle 0

Well this is how Lucia fell asleep tonight. While the swaddle has worked for 7 months, we are starting to wonder if she doesn't want or need the swaddle any longer. She has been waking up in the middle of the night completely out of it, or arching her back in frustration when she is in it. All we can hope for, is a good nights rest for all of us :-)

6 Month Check Up

And about a month overdue post! Lucia is getting big, almost 19 pounds and I think 25 inches long. She is still in the 75-90% for all of her stats. She handled her FOUR shots like a champ while momma cried :-( Doc said she is as perfect as can be and doing everything she should be. She gave us the go ahead to give yogurt, meats and beans. So since the appointment we have tried yogurt and chicken that I pureed and she loves both. Surprise surprise :-). This weekend I'll make black beans and see how that goes. I mean we will be in Brasil in less than a month so she has to get ready!
