Bump and Progress 16.3 Weeks

. Well I've reached 16.3 weeks! Baby brother pregnancy is keeping me more tired, more headache prone, and more emotional than with Lucia. I am now having pockets of energy spurts but I'm still about to burst into tears at any given moment. And I'll be glad for the day when these borderline migraines decide to take a hike. I can only imagine that baby brother is getting stronger and smarter through all my ailments :-) I've been trying to stay as active as possible with Lucia but have been experiencing major mommy guilt when I find that she is plugged into some electronic device. Rafa has been really busy with work but I'm thankful to have his help, especially at the end of the day. As a summer baby, I hate to admit it but I will. I want to speed through summer and get to October. I'm looking forward to the holidays and cold brisk weather. The heat has not been kind to my body.

But enough whining! I'm healthy, baby is growing, Lu and Papai are excited, and although I have only felt a flutter or two, I look forward to the days I can feel him more and know that my family is growing complete. :-)

Next appointment and ultrasound will be 8/21 where we can really get a good look at him. I hope he looks just like Rafa. What a beautiful boy he will be!

Monday Afternoon

The great thing about having a zoo pass and living a mile from the zoo is that you can go anytime and just stroll around with ease. Lu and I did just that this afternoon and evening. It was quiet, warm, and relaxing. I'm always amazed at how focused she is looking at the animals. The sea lions, or as she says, sea walruses, really captured her attention. She didn't want to leave them at all. I'm such a rusher that I have to remember when she wants to be patient and slow, to really let her. Especially in moments like this where we have no reason to hurry and at the same time to appreciate admiring such beautiful animals, company, and weather!

Monday Morning

Today we met up with our friends Greyson and Megen and Quinn and Kris. We played and painted at the park and them went to the Grilled Cheese Grill where you eat lunch on a school bus! It was so much fun and the kids really liked the idea of being on the bus :-)

Getting Ready for Little Brother!

This weekend we went to town getting ready! First, our good friends Lidia and Jon lent us all their baby equipment, carseat, swing, vibrating chair, and bouncer, and clothes are coming. They were so giving to us! Then Rafa completely redid the guest room to be baby's room. Beautiful pastel blue and green with chair rail. It looks gorgeous. I organized baby clothes and linen closet and Lu and I spot cleaned the carpets. It was a beautiful sunny weekend but all we wanted to do was get busy! But by afternoons I was completely wiped out and feeling bleh. But we topped the weekend off with my birthday dinner to Benihana. Lucia enjoyed and ate well but couldn't wait until they sung Happy Birthday to me, but blowing out the candle was the real moment she was waiting for :-)

4th of July Camping

Well we were all packed for what felt like a week, but we had to cut out after one night because poor Lu came down sick and with a fever.  As much as we all wanted to stay I am glad we came home early so she could get full rest and start to feel better.  Her and I both are still a bit under the weather, but we are recovering.  It is so hard to be sick in the middle of summer!  But, the night we were there at the river was awesome and relaxing!  Can't wait to go back out again!

June Tulsa Visit

I am ridiculously late, but here we are!  Lucia and I went to Tulsa in June for a week (Rafa met for a couple days). It was a great week, although I never knew how tiring it could be hanging out with 4 or 5 GOOD kids.  Imagine if they were all terrors?  I love seeing Lucia with her cousins, even though she tends to be a bit standoffish.  She is still getting to know them and I think the older she gets and remembers them, the easier it will become.  One thing is for sure, none of her cousins stopped trying to win her affections.  They are all so wonderfully loving.  We were primarily there to celebrate my Aunt Desi's 50th birthday.  It was a great success!   I even had some time to take pics of Aunt Desi and her pup and Uncle Rob and Aunt Wanda with theirs.Lucia had many firsts!  Movies, bowling, pedicures!   And she did so great travelling.  I am so proud of her.  Until the next trip, which, as a family, won't be until after baby boy is born!
