June Tulsa Visit

I am ridiculously late, but here we are!  Lucia and I went to Tulsa in June for a week (Rafa met for a couple days). It was a great week, although I never knew how tiring it could be hanging out with 4 or 5 GOOD kids.  Imagine if they were all terrors?  I love seeing Lucia with her cousins, even though she tends to be a bit standoffish.  She is still getting to know them and I think the older she gets and remembers them, the easier it will become.  One thing is for sure, none of her cousins stopped trying to win her affections.  They are all so wonderfully loving.  We were primarily there to celebrate my Aunt Desi's 50th birthday.  It was a great success!   I even had some time to take pics of Aunt Desi and her pup and Uncle Rob and Aunt Wanda with theirs.Lucia had many firsts!  Movies, bowling, pedicures!   And she did so great travelling.  I am so proud of her.  Until the next trip, which, as a family, won't be until after baby boy is born!

Zoo with Friends!

Lu and I met up with some of our friends on Monday for a little walk around the zoo. It was a gorgeous morning! Lu couldn't stop talking about the bird show :-)

Confessions of a Pregnant Vegetarian

I had two Kosher hotdogs on Thursday. It was seriously the best food moment of my life. Definitely craving meat this go around!

It's a Boy!

And omg am I terrified. First and foremost how do I change a diaper?!? I dont want to hurt him. And then of course how do I raise him to be a  strong yet sweet young man? How do I interact with him if I'm not painting his nails or coming his hair in pretty pigtails? Everyone says that boys are usually mommas boys, but Lucia is already a mommas girl! How is there space for two?! Lucia is so sweet and attentive and smart. What if he's rambunctious and wild and loud? How do I cope? Or am I falling into the stereotypes that I've so strongly tried to ignore? I know there are sweet gentle boys out there. I hope baby boy is one if them. Rafa of course is totally unphased by a girl or boy but for some reason I feel like I'll be totally lost when it comes to raising a boy. I hope I pull myself together in 6 months! And baby boy, I already love you, I just want you to become so much in life and I want to make sure I help get you there. I want that for both my babies no matter what. Now off to buy "raising boy" books! ;-)

Big Girl Bed

So we made the switch this weekend in order to give Lu time to settle in time for baby boy. We decided to keep the queen so that when guests stay then can still use that bed and we don't need to buy any furniture for her or baby. Lucia fell asleep two nights in a row with no problem. She even put her books away on night one and crawled back into bed. So independent!  She has been loving the big bed and having us relax in there with her.  Its like a little adventure for her. Not only with the bed, but we are on night 7 of night potty training. We've had one success night, 3 unsuccessful nights, but then 3 nights successful recently. Hopefully we keep the momentum. It's a lot for my princess but if anyone can transition smoothly it's Lucia. She always takes everything in stride.

Undies Kind of Day

Sorry if this TMI but its just too cute not to document. :-) Rafa and Lucia giving Bella a bath on a very hot day!
