Tulsa and Family Baby Shower

This weekend, Rafa and I flew to Tulsa for our family baby shower.  It certainly was a quick weekend, but it was a lot of fun and the weather was just beautiful!

My sis, her kids, and Rafa and I...

Rafa and Zaid playing with flashcards...

Princess Zailey!

Amanda and the kids....

The baby shower was wonderful and everything turned out great.  My mom did an excellent job with all of the details.  She made all of these delicious appetizers, and had some very Worldly games to play too that my sister helped with.  The only thing that was a disappointment was that I wanted a family photo with all of us but totally forgot.  But my Mom, Sister, Zailey, Zared, Zaid, my Aunt Desi, my Uncle Jerry, Chris, Uncle Rob and Aunt Wanda were all there, and thats what counts!

Rafa and I....

My mom made Brasilian candies...Brigaderos that Rafa just loves!  There was a ton more food, but I didn't catch a photo.

Cupcakes that Aunt Desi made...

Diaper "cake' that Aunt Desi made...

Berry punch!

Wonderful and thoughtful gifts!  Three homemade blankets and about 10 homemade burp cloths : )

And the funniest gift of all from Uncle Jer and Chris...it says " I am a Princess, my Mom is a queen, and Daddy is around here somewhere".  So funny and so true!

Bowling For Noela's Birthday!

Last weekend, we went bowling for Noela's birthday. It was a great evening, although my balance was slightly off!  I won the first round, and let's just say Rafa gained some momentum during the second : )  Noela's brother Julius had never bowled before, and I think got third place out of 6 of us.  Well done Julius!  Thanks for the fun evening Noela!

Nice form Rafa!

Nursery Thus Far

So, we have been working hard on the nursery these last couple weeks.  It's not finished because we still need to build her bookshelf as well as work on accessories (rug, lamp, etc).  So far, her room is totally girly, but I am loving how it is turning out!

Rafa painting for us!

Sleigh Cherry furniture from Wal Mart...surprisingly great quality and affordable too....

Pink and yellow baskets from Babies R Us (with a gift card the Anaya's got for us)

Small table from Baby To Baby Resale store...$20!

Cherry blossom tree decal from Etsy...$99 with shipping from Israel.  This took us three hours to put up together, but it was so worth it, we both love it!

Missing Them

I think with the New Year upon us, and feeling a little sentimental about what the New Year will bring us, a baby girl, I am especially missing my Grams and Paps this morning.  Love you guys and wish you were here.   Missing you so much....

Christmas

This Christmas was especially wonderful, knowing that next year at this time, we will have 4 stockings to fill : )  Rafa and I were on a serious budget this month, so we kept things real simple except for buying things for baby girl of course.  Christmas Eve, Rafa was my hero.  He painted the baby's room perfectly pink all in one day, even though sleeping in would have been preferred.  In the evening we went to Marisa and Derricks house to celebrate with apps and drinks.  We enjoyed the evening with their little family (Kayla and Brianna), Marisa's mom, dad, and brother and with Janelle, Pedro, and little Ava.  It was nice to spend time with friends, who really are our pseudo family!  Christmas morning, I was up early, and surprisingly, so was Rafa.  We opened gifts by the fire with Bella, who we realize is becoming more and more spoiled by the minute.  Later in the day, we cleaned up the painting mess, worked on fixing the squeaky floors in the baby room, and set the furniture all out. And for dinner, we had the traditional fixings.  By 5pm, all of us could have slept till morning : )

It was a wonderful little Christmas : )

Dinner with Anaya's

Stace and Nick are in town this week for the Christmas holiday and we were able to hang out for the evening last night.  It was a beautiful evening that started off with Snow in the Sylvan Hill and ended at Meriweathers for dinner.  It was nice to see our good friends and hope that we can see them again real soon.
