So our little nutter butter turned three months young on Saturday. Aside from the lack of sleep because of Lucia's three month growing spurt, in which she wants to eat every 2-3 hours, she is like a whole new little baby. It seemed like all of sudden she went from a crying and passive infant, to a content and active baby. Lucia is entertaining dad and I with so much!
She is talking up a storm. We say "Bella the dog" so much to her, that she usually responds after we say this. I am convinced she is trying to say it too.
She is reaching for the stars. Ok, maybe just to her toys and feet, but she is finding things every second. She even grabs both feet at one time.
She smiles. A lot. No matter who it is, mom and dad, her teachers at school, people in the stores, the girl knows how to charm. The instant they say one thing to her, she lights up with a big smile. That can make anyone's day.
Squeeling with delight. And usually all it takes is seeing either me, daddy, or Bella. If only we could be greeted like that by everyone, imagine how joyful the World would feel...
She looks around, up and down, left and right. She loves following daddy with her eyes, as well as Bella. She even can follow Bella running in the yard back and forth. There is a slight delay (because Bella is too fast) but she is trying!
All play and no work. Lucia now can play on her mat for days (actually more like 15 minutes at a time) but it feels like days to me. I can actually eat a meal while she plays. Usually Bella is standing by during play time while I eat my lunch. Thanks Bella for keeping an eye.
Swimming. There is one thing she loves second to eating, and that is being in the water. I try and take her swimming once or twice a week. We go under the water, we swim around, and she is as happy as a clam. And we have been taking baths together, since this is most calming for both of us. She would stay there all day if I let her : ) So would mommy!
Tummy (part) time. We are slowly working on the tummy time, but she can go about 2-3 minutes at one sitting. Now, you are thinking, 2-3 minutes is nothing. But as all new parents know, tummy time does not come easy! As of a couple weeks ago, tummy time consisted of us putting her down and her screaming. Not so much fun.
Lovins. Up until about a week ago, Lucia would depend on us only for eating, sleeping and entertaining. Now she knows how and who to go to for a cuddle. Have you ever had a baby rest her head on your shoulder? Lucia does that now and it is the sweetest. thing. ever.
We look forward to the next month with our little Lucia Kate. Time is going so fast!
