Handsome Boy

Our sweet Gabriel is 11 weeks and for the past couple weeks he has moved out of the newborn phase and is all baby. He's much calmer yet alert. He can be entertained and played with now. He is smiling a lot to us and notices when we move around the room. He "talks" to us and makes coos. He's very strong already holding up his head and staying up during tummy time. Today he had his frenulum clipped for he still has not been latching well. It was simple and he only cried for a second. I'm hopeful that we can nurse better and that he won't have any speech issues in the future. He is the perfect addition to our family and while I was nervous before about having a boy, I am thankful every day he is who he is.

Lucia has been loving on her baby brother. She helps us all of the time, wants to be involved from changing diapers, to picking out clothes, to giving him his binki. We have finally adjusted to being a family of 4, we can go out as a family more, Rafa and I have been on our own with both kids, and life is just moving along, all without feeling terrified!  Of course it's busy every day, but we are taking it all in stride.

Now, if we could just get us all past Lucia's 3s in one piece we will call our life a success ;-)

Good Day

A beautiful spring day filled with breakfast out, a swim party, and an afternoon in the sun!

Sun!

Today was a gorgeous sunny day, with temps up to 65! So Gabriel and I hopped in the car and headed to Lake Oswego where we had breakfast, took a nice long walk, had lunch, and then took a different nice long walk. I'm not sure if it was the sun or what, but people were stopping us left and right to get a glimpse of Gabriel and chat with us about babies and children and life. It was a perfect day to spend with my prince. Sun really does make a difference in feeling good!

St Honore croissant and decaf cappuccino!

Smiles!

After a week of Gabriel being sick and then Lucia, life was feeling a bit nutty and overwhelming. And then Rafa captured Gabriel's first smiles on camera. Now everything makes sense :-)

Lucia Gymnastics

It's been literally months since I've joined Lucia on the gym floor. Between being a gazillion months prego and having a newborn, Rafas been the main one. But yesterday Rafa stayed with Gabriel and I got to play. She is learning many skills and getting out most of her energy! It's really fun to watch her athletisim and coordination!

Ladies Night!

It was my first night out without Gabriel. Rafa stayed at home with both of the kids so I could go out with the girls, some of my mommy friends. We went to an Urban Winery and sampled wine, cheeses, and some other yummies. Of course we talked non stop about the joys and pains of motherhood, but it was nice to have uninterrupted adult conversation. I was worried about how Rafa would manage, not because of him, but because I know how much work it is having the two now :-)  thanks Rafa, it was a great night out!
